Merge and split lots

Your live stock is not static. As production unfolds, you regroup what can be regrouped and split what must be split. OstraOS handles both without breaking traceability: every move leaves a record visible from the lots involved.

Merge: combine what is compatible

Two lots can only be merged when they share the same species, quality and grade. OstraOS checks this automatically — accidental mixing is impossible. Source lots are marked as merged, and a new resulting lot inherits the combined quantities.

Split: separate part of a lot

Conversely, you can split a lot to sell a portion, separate grades or spread units across zones. The source lot shrinks, a new child lot is born with its own code, and the sum of both equals the original.
