Grading is a pivotal moment in a lot's commercial life: it sets the market size and therefore the price. OstraOS models three distinct operations that may follow each other on the same lot.
Three distinct operations
- Grading: assigning a commercial size to a lot after mechanical or manual sorting.
- Regrading: updating the grade after a growth period — the lot has grown and shifted category.
- Quality sorting: a quality-control operation that removes non-conforming pieces (undersize, breakage, parasites, irregular shape).
Each operation is recorded as a timestamped traceability event. The full chain, from spat to shipment, keeps the memory of every successive grading.
Remember
Sorting rejects are tallied in the event's extra information without altering the lot quantity — the trail stays intact for audit.
