Once the order is confirmed, two paths are possible depending on shipment complexity: direct shipping for simple orders, a preparation and palletisation step for larger orders or customers who require standardised packing.
With or without palletisation
- Without palletisation: the order can move straight to Shipped after confirmation. Ideal for retail sales or small deliveries.
- With palletisation: the order first goes to preparation. OstraOS automatically spreads items across pallets respecting tare and max weight, then switches to Ready.
Shipping captures the departure date automatically. If your carrier is EDI-ready, you can generate the shipping notice (DESADV) file in EDIFACT format right from the logistics panel.
Tip
The default carrier configured on the customer record is pre-filled on the order. You can still change it case by case.
