When an order arrives, OstraOS picks the units to ship by prioritising those whose use-by date is closest. This freshness-first rotation guarantees that your customers receive products within the optimal consumption window — and that you naturally limit waste.
Why this logic
- For your customers: products delivered close to the packing time, with no risk of a too-short use-by.
- For you: fewer expired units in stock and therefore fewer financial losses.
- For traceability: every shipment ties back to a precise unit, with no ambiguity.
Selection is automatic when the order is created. You stay in control, of course: if you want to ship a different unit, the interface lets you switch in two clicks.
Tip
The oldest units don't always leave first: it is their use-by date that wins. A unit packed yesterday from a fast-perishing lot may leave before a unit packed earlier from a more stable lot.
