Shipping lock
A ready order is frozen to preserve shipment integrity.
As soon as an order moves to Ready, its palletisation is frozen. No accidental change can alter what has been prepared: OstraOS technically locks the composition to preserve shipment integrity.
Why this lock
- Prevents an operator from unknowingly altering an already-prepared pallet.
- Safeguards transport documents already printed or EDI files already sent to your carrier.
- Guarantees consistency between what is physically loaded and what is documented.
If a change is truly needed, you must explicitly move the order back to In preparation, which releases the lock. This intentional friction prevents cascading errors.
Remember
The lock is not a constraint — it is a safeguard. It guarantees that a Ready shipment is exactly what was prepared, no more, no less.
