You don't have to pick a printer fleet based on what your software supports. OstraOS adapts to the hardware you already use — whether a professional thermal printer, ultra-fast for volume, or a standard office printer for occasional needs.
Two printer families
- Professional thermal printers: the de facto standard in the logistics chain, ideal for high volume. OstraOS sends them a native, optimised format.
- Office printers (inkjet, laser): handy for small batches or setups without dedicated hardware. OstraOS sends them a pre-formatted PDF.
If a printer is renamed or detection doesn't go as expected, a format selector lets you manually force the right channel. The preference is remembered for subsequent prints from that browser.
Good to know
Office mode is inherently slower than professional thermal mode — rasterisation has a cost. For large print runs, OstraOS handles the queue without freezing the interface.
